[Work permits]

Did you know that without a special work permit (invitation) foreigners are not allowed to work in Poland?

Depending on the purpose of the foreigner, there are several types of work permits: zezwolenie (zezwolenie), oświadczenie (oświadczenie), seasonal invitation (zaświadczenie).

1. Zezwolenie (voivodeship permit) allows a foreigner to legally stay and work in Poland for the entire period of validity of a work visa. The validity of this document is from 12 to 36 months. This invitation is suitable for citizens of all countries.
2. Oświadczenie is valid for up to 24 months and can be issued only for citizens of five countries: Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
3. Zaświadczenie (seasonal permit) is valid for up to 9 months. It is issued only for a specified list of works, namely agricultural work, work in the tourism sector and other types of work of seasonal nature.

Employers are responsible for issuing each of these permits. But foreigners should still make sure that their documents are in order, because illegal work (working without a permit) can result in deportation or a fine.
